This truly captures a sense of solitude in the City.  You can almost feel the chill of the walls, and see  your own breath in the air.  It exudes a great sense of belonging.

Brilliant - the contrast between the hardness and sharpness of the foreground with the softness of the distance is amazing.   How the sharpness leads to the softness is brilliantly done.

Patrick Horn (23/11/2009)

So evocative - the soft colours and straight, hard lines provide a great contrast.  Dreamy.

Rebecca Horn (22/11/2009)

The cold, hard flagstones juxtapositioned with diluted sunlight is depicted here to galvanising effect. Good use of watercolour has produced an engaging and distinct atmosphere.

What a gorgeous light! Beautiful watercolour!
