Entry is now closed for the 2009 EAC Art Awards. Over 2150 entries were received.
Judges
The main judging panel this year included Sally Bulgin, editor of The Artist Magazine, (http://www.painters-online.co.uk) and Tom Coates, Artist. The main judging panel, along with sponsor representatives, selected prize winners once the exhibition was on display. The first round of judging took place on the 28th October, and artists were informed of the judges’ decisions by 2nd November. The first round of judging was based on the submitted reproduced images of artists' work, either jpeg digital files or colour photographs (max A4 size).

Prizes of at least £250 are awarded annually in each of the following categories:
Landscape/Seascape
Still Life
Watercolour
Drawing
Oil
Photography
Portrait (any medium)
3D Work
For the 1st time in 2009 - EAC People’s Choice Award Prize
Angela Farnell Memorial Prize.
This £1,000 prize is awarded in memory of the founder of EAC. The prize is for the best entry from an artist living in sheltered / retirement housing or a care home, or who entered through a day centre. This prize is divided between the artist and their sheltered scheme, care home or day centre.
Exhibition
101 finalists’ works were included in the EAC Over 60s Art Awards exhibition 2009 at the Bankside Gallery, 48 Hopton Street, London, SE1 9JH, from 2nd - 6th December 2009. All exhibiting artists were invited to a Private View of the exhibition on 1st December, at which prizes were awarded to the winners. This year we have been delighted to have the support of the journalist and broadcaster Dame Joan Bakewell, official Government appointed Voice of Older People.
